Always a popular location for cyclist, the Peak District has multiple areas where bicycle hire and servicing centres are conveniently provided just for you to enjoy. They are placed in various aesthetically pleasing traffic-free areas so that you are the safest you can be. They can provide you with a bike, so don’t think you can’t participate in the Peak Districts cycle trails just because you don’t own your own bike – you can’t get out of cycling that easily! It is a great form of exercise, promoting full body health for people of any age group and fitness and is also one of the best possible ways to discover the breath taking scenery of the Peaks.
There are three centres which you could use. These are Ashbourne, Derwent and Parsley Hay. Ashbourne is the Southern end of Tissington Trail and is easily accessible from Buxton, Derby and Leek. Derwent is situated in the Derwent Valley and is easily accessible from Sheffield and Glossop. Finally, Parsley Hay is located at the High Peak and Tissington Trail junction and is most easily accessible from Buxton and Ashbourne. These centres run two different opening times which vary between the summer and winter months so it is worth checking the specific opening times before you head out to your cycling centre. In the summer all of the centres are open from 9.30am until 5pm from March to October but they are all individual and subject to change (weather dependent) from October onwards!
Extra Facilities for You
You may already have your own bike, but if something goes wrong the knowledgeable staff at these centres are on hand to service and carry out emergency repairs in order to get your back up and out as quickly as possible. There is also the facility to buy ex-hire bicycles or a brand new bike at the most competitive of prices if you take to cycling like a duck takes to water!
