There is always plenty to do in Sheffield and the cycling scene is no exception. There are the regular cycle routes and rides which are open to anyone all year round but then there are the specialist cycle rides too. These come in all shapes and sizes but do not necessarily limit their audience too dramatically. There is cycle racing and women only rides so there is something to suit all abilities.
What’s On in Sheffield
- Friday Nighters
Every month there is a Friday night bike ride. This is a way of exploring your city on bike and each month is themed. These themes range from Fish and Chip shop tours to The Full Monty locations and all rides are started from a well-known city centre base.
- Sheffield CTC
These happen on multiple nights of the week and vary in difficulty, so you will always find what you are looking for. Depending on your route, depends on where you start from in the city and by signing up to their newsletter, you can be kept up to date with all the latest details, events and locations.
- Sky Ride Local
Rides happening locally in many areas all around Sheffield, covering huge areas of the city in total, varying in length and an array of difficulties. These Sky Ride Locals are led by local cyclists who have been trained by British Cycling.
- Breeze Rides
Women only rides for regular women, with various starting points, various difficulty and mileage.
- Sheffield Cycling 4 All
Weekly rides held in Hillsborough Park. They have bikes to borrow which have been adapted for people with specific needs, hence the name “4 all”, as it is all inclusive. There are tricycle, side by sides, tandems and hand cycles.
